She Lives! (And Gives Some Stuff Away!)
It's hard to believe that it's been almost a month since I've podcasted.
First of all, THANK YOU to everyone for checking in on me and for sharing their support/prayers/wisdom. It's been a rough one. And the better part of the last two weeks has been spent looking at this face:
I'm several rows past this point now but it's working up so nicely. LOVELY pattern.
And, yes, that is some new ink on my wrist. I got my first tattoo a couple of weeks ago (right before I got sick). It is the Latin phrase for "know thyself" and it will NOT be my last decorative ink. :)
NOW - for some serious business. I owe some prizes!!! Thank you to everyone who has purchased the pattern and/or donated to the Walk. We have raised $3,860!!!!
So I would like to give away the following prizes! I will contact the winners on Ravelry if I have their names. Otherwise, please contact me at erin@mommyneedsyarn.com to claim your prize! :)
First up, we have the SpinningFates Toula Sock in "It's A Puzzle" along with a great project bag from Knitting's My Bag.
The yarn will come from me while the bag will be sent to the winner directly from the lovely Lois. :)
And the winner is...... Katherine Drivas!
First of all, THANK YOU to everyone for checking in on me and for sharing their support/prayers/wisdom. It's been a rough one. And the better part of the last two weeks has been spent looking at this face:
Collin came down sick on the weekend before Spring Break started. It started as a nasty 103 fever that would come and go and come and go. It then turned into this horrible barking cough. Then I started with it. By the time last Monday came around I had no voice, couldn't breathe and had the fever too. So the kids' Spring Break was a bust.
Unfortunately, life doesn't stop when Mom gets sick. School was missed by me - which meant being behind (even more so than I was) on projects and reading and tests. I'm almost caught up but I have finals in two weeks so I'm more than a little freaked out by that I still have to get done.
There has been knitting though! I'm still working on my Calligraphy Cardigan by Hannah Fettig and I'm also knitting a sample for Unique Sheep out of their Tinsel Toes gradient. The pattern is Damask Rose Shawl by Janine Le Cras and it's BEAUTIFUL. I will be sad to send it off. Here's a WIP picture.
